Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026.
This policy explains what Tourism Tools collects through tourismtools.ca, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. If something here is unclear, email hello@tourismtools.ca and we will answer it.
What we collect
- When you use the Say Hello form: your name, email address, organization and message.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address.
- When you visit the site: the technical details any website receives, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you open. Our host uses them to keep the site fast and secure.
We do not ask for payment details and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
How we use it
- To reply to your message and follow up on the project you asked about.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site working and to block spam and abuse.
We do not sell or rent your information. The only company that handles it for us is Cloudflare, which runs the site (see below).
Cookies and similar tools
A few cookies are strictly necessary: one remembers your cookie choice, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is sent by a person, not a bot. Analytics and advertising cookies only run with your consent where the law requires it, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Where your information is stored
The site, its database and its email are run on Cloudflare. Cloudflare operates data centres around the world, so your information may be processed outside Canada, under Cloudflare’s own privacy and security commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep messages as long as we need them to respond and for our ordinary business records, and newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. Then we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@tourismtools.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
